Boygenius (Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus & Julien Baker) Plus Supergroups
Host Jim DeRogatis and producer Alex Claiborne talk with the indie rock supergroup, Boygenius. Group members Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker talk about making their first full-length album, "the record," amidst their very active solo careers. Hosts Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot also share a few tracks from other favorite supergroups.
Boygenius
Jim and producer Alex Claiborne have a casual conversation with the three friends behind Boygenius: Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus. The conversation focuses on the deep friendship that inspires the group's songwriting, the new album and the meaning behind their recent Rolling Stone cover photo that referenced Nirvana.
Supergroups
Jim and Greg share two supergroups who, like Boygenius live up to their potential for greatness given the talent of the members. One group is Wild Flag, which brought together members of Sleater-Kinney, Helium and The Minders. The other group is Trio, which brought together Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt.

Dear Listeners,
For more than 15 years, Sound Opinions was a production of WBEZ, Chicago's public radio station. Now that the show is independent, we're inviting you to join the band and lend a hand! We need your support more than ever because now we have to do all the behind-the-scenes work that WBEZ handled before (like buying insurance and paying for podcast hosting, ugh). Plus, we have some exciting ideas we'd like to try now that there's no one to tell us no!
