Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers Kendrick Lamar
Kendrick Lamar's new album “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers” is his first new work since winning the Pulitzer Prize for his previous album, “Damn.” It is a sprawling double-album, but Lamar's idiosyncratic approach falls short of his previous work.
Dance Fever Florence + The Machine
Florence Welch is a galvanizing performer and on “Dance Fever” Florence + The Machine try to get listeners back on the dance floor following the pandemic periods of isolation. Her gender politics are embraced by both Jim and Greg, but Jim has trouble with her theatricality. Greg loves the new album.

Dear Listeners,
For more than 15 years, Sound Opinions was a production of WBEZ, Chicago's public radio station. Now that the show is independent, we're inviting you to join the band and lend a hand! We need your support more than ever because now we have to do all the behind-the-scenes work that WBEZ handled before (like buying insurance and paying for podcast hosting, ugh). Plus, we have some exciting ideas we'd like to try now that there's no one to tell us no!
